Yeah, it's sad. Concrete and humans are really antithetical to each other at some level. Concrete has qualities, especially when poured in large masses, that say NO HUMAN! Of course, we get to make nifty bridges and buildings with the stuff, and the Romans used it, but it's certainly easy to make aesthetic disasters with the stuff.
